The culture of Japan has evolved greatly over the millennia, from the country's prehistoric Jōmon period, to its contemporary hybrid culture, which combines influences from Asia, Europe, and North America. Japan has some significant cultures. Firstly, Japanese, as a language, is written with a combination of three scripts: hiragana, derived from the Chinese cursive script, katakana, derived as shorthand from Chinese characters, and kanji, imported from China. Moreover, the sport, Sumo, was originated in Japan. Furthermore, Ninja was a covert agent or mercenary in feudal Japan. The functions of the ninja included espionage, sabotage, infiltration, and assassination, and open combat in certain situations. Finally, Japanese national clothing is Kimono and Yukata. The main difference between Kimono and Yukata is when people wear it. Kimono is more formal than Yukata.

The culture of South Korea is pretty interesting. Since the mid-20th century, the peninsula has been split politically between North and South Korea, resulting in a number of cultural differences. The traditional dress of Korea known as hanbok has been worn since ancient times. As with music, there is a distinction between court dance and folk dance. Common court dances are jeongjaemu performed at banquets, and ilmu , performed at Korean Confucian rituals. Nowadays K-pop market is really huge now.

REFLECTION
I selected this project for my portfolio because I followed all my steps with hard sewing work. I have learned from this project that there are many cultural differences in each country and there are many varieties. Also, I learned the design concepts can fit the today’s world. The challenge, I faced in creating this project, was sewing my prototype. It was really small size and I was not good at sewing staff.
